Meet local Paediatric Nurse Jenni Watts

Jenni Watts
Jenni runs The Thrive Baby Clinic here every Tuesday from 8am to 4pm. She works with families and their newborns in the initial period to establish healthy infant feeding practices. For the breast fed infant, her knowledge and experience as an IBCLC helps to provide support. There are enormous variances on growth and development in infants, regular assessment during these early stages can help facilitate better outcomes.
Jenni has been running child infant clinics for 22 years. You may recognise her from her previous clinic held at Corinda Pharmacy.
Occasionally there can be functional or bio mechanical issues in infants, (such as head symmetry, tongue or lip tie) and Jenni works with other practitioners here at Thrive and externally to help infants and caregivers to address any of these issues. The birth process impacts significantly on many infants and mothers, and an infants ability to feed can be greatly impacted by these factors. She prides herself on guiding families through the postnatal period and helping them adapt to the often stressful new way of life.
Jenni also conducts normal child health assessments throughout infancy to track that your child is meeting milestones and can refer to speech therapists, occupational therapists and more. This is all done in consultation with the family. Her primary work place is The Mater Mothers In Brisbane as a midwife of 36 years she is passionate about families getting good professional support with their antenatal and postnatal journey aligning beautifully with Thrive Health Co’s philosophy to promote wellness.
