Do you suffer from Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a disorder in which there is a sideways curve to the spine. This is directly related to spinal misalignment and can begin while the body is going through rapid spurts of development in youth aged 10-12 and can also develop in adulthood. Typically, scoliosis begins as a minor bend in the spine that gradually progresses over a lifetime.

Scoliosis causes the curve in the spine to take on an “s” or “c “shape. The curvature will put stress and strain on the joints and muscles that balance out the spine. This can potentially increase the degeneration of the spine.

Certain symptoms will become persistent when conditions of Scoliosis are present. The most common include: irritation of nerves and muscle tension. Scoliosis can also be associated with other symptoms: headaches, neck pain, back pain, and hip, knee, or leg pain and nerve pain. If you are feeling pain or discomfort due to Scoliosis, it is very likely related directly to spinal misalignment.

The good news? Early detection and Chiropractic care may prevent the curvature from advancing to a debilitating state. Therefore, being checked and treated at any stage can significantly improve your comfort, muscular strength and mobility.

How can we help with Scoliosis?
An experienced Chiropractor can perform a thorough examination and sometimes refer for X-Ray that will determine the presence of scoliosis. Once the issue has been identified, our Chiropractor will perform a full health history to identify any factors that could be contributing to the presence of scoliosis. This assessment helps to determine the appropriate treatment for the particular case.

At Thrive Health, Chiropractic care is a gentle and conservative approach to treatment that can prevent, slow, and stop the progression of scoliosis.
